2 bodies found, 2 men missing in Wisconsin canoe accident

The men, between the ages of 20 and 23, were all from IL, reports the Chicago Tribune.

The men had gone to visit a friend whose parents have a house on Lake Beulah, about 35 miles southeast of Milwaukee.

“From across the bay they could see an overturned canoe”, Roberts said. There was no evidence the men took life jackets with them onto the canoe.

Bodies were found after Mill Lake was searched Sunday afternoon in East Troy, police tell our sister station WISN.

The water temperature is about 34 degrees, Roberts said.

Police say a group of people from IL were staying at a house on a lake in East Troy, Wisconsin. The search was suspended late Sunday and will resume early Monday morning. “They looked like they were dressed in casual type clothes”.

“At this time there is no reason to believe foul play was involved”, Roberts said.

“It wasn’t witnessed by anybody so we are still trying to piece things together”.

According to the Associated Press, Officials said four people wen tout in a canoe at about 3 a.m. Sunday.
