$227 Million Jackpot up for Grabs in the US Powerball

December 24 20:53 2015

The multistate Powerball jackpot rises to $255 million for Saturday’s drawing after none of the tickets sold for the mid-week prize matched all the winning numbers, while a ticket sold in Chalmette won the Louisiana Lotto.

The ticket was sold at the QuikTrip station at South Vandeventer and Chouteau avenues. Drawings are held Wednesdays and Saturdays at 11 p.m., according to a press statement.

Rolling for the thirteenth time since November 7, the Powerball jackpot has officially reached a whopping $227 million for the next draw. There was one victor of the raffle that won £1 million and 20 raffle winners that won £20,000 each.

Players should check every ticket, every time, and immediately sign winning tickets. Saturday’s jackpot will be the highest since September 30, when the grand prize was $310.5 million. Odds of winning the smallest prize, $4, are 1 in 25, Harris said.

The Rolling Cash 5 jackpot for the next drawing is $100,000 for hitting all five numbers and the odds of winning are 1 in 575,757.

Lottery officials say they can’t confirm the victor until the ticket is validated and the victor claims the prize. The base prize was $50,000.
