76ers deal Noel to Dallas Mavericks

If the Sixers were primarily anxious about having to match a max offer sheet from another team, then that should have been reflected in the type of trade offers they received.

The Philadelphia 76ers’ rebuild continued when as Philly agreed to trade former top-10 pick Nerlens Noel to the Dallas Mavericks, according to multiple reports. Jahlil Okafor and Nerlens Noel took turns headlining trade rumors, and the 76ers finally pulled the trigger on a deal.

Those conditions make this an appealing deal for the Mavericks – assuming Noel can play, and the meter is running on that. If it didn’t, be patient and continue to work.

Two of those teams made moves to better themselves.

Noel, a 22-year-old power forward, has been plagued by injuries in his young National Basketball Association career. The Kings, in ninth, lost Cousins.

Noel may not have lived up to his potential as of yet but he’s still years away from his prime and will now have the benefit of a solid team in which to play with. Phoenix will receive Jared Sullinger, an expiring contract, and two future second-round picks.
