A further 57 per cent of respondents were unsure, with only 13 per cent saying they oppose bombing Agrabah, a place which 100 per cent does not exist.
According to a poll from Public Policy Polling, many Republican primary voters support bombing the fictional city of Agrabah from the Disney movie Aladdin.
A Twitter user suggested they ask about bombing a fictional Arab country, to which Executive Director Tom Jensen thought of using Aladdin’s homeland. Supporters of Jeb Bush, Chris Christie and Rick Santorum all polled at above 30 percent for Agrabah bombing. When looking specifically at Donald Trump supporters, 41 percent favored the move compared to 9 percent who opposed it.
As PPP went to tell Mashable, the purpose of the poll was to see “if people would reflexively support bombing something that sounded vaguely Middle Eastern”.
The poll came from Democratic firm Public Policy Polling, which likes to troll reporters and social media with humorously worded survey questions.
Only 19 percent of Democratic voters would do the same. Respondents were also asked if they supported or opposed the incarceration of Japanese-Americans during World War II in retrospect.
PPP is gaining a reputation for quirky polling questions.
But while 30 PERCENT OF REPUBLICANS WANT TO KILL ABU WITH DRONES is an admittedly pretty sexy headline, there are a couple of factors to consider here.
