The Cleveland Cavaliers might finally have their full squad, but they haven’t faced a Golden State Warriors quite like this before.
Golden State’s seen guard, fellow Curry “Splash Brother” and deep threat Klay Thompson and forward Draymond Green excel in the NBA’s highest-scoring offense. Maybe he is overshadowed by the incredible Stephen Curry and his playing style is not as fancy as playing styles of some other players in the league, but he is not the best shooting guard in the National Basketball Association.
We are only in December and there are many games left to play so the situation might chance in favor of Klay Thompson.
“I’m going to go with myself”, Thompson said Saturday, according to the Bay Area News Group.
Houston Rockets superstar James Harden and Chicago Bulls All-Star guard Jimmy Butler are both having terrific season for their respective teams.
Although he’s one of the best shooters in the league, Thompson admits that he’s not even the best shooter on the Warriors.
And there were no surprises as to who he nominated, with Warriors teammate and reigning NBA MVP Steph Curry given the nod. With the California team owning a league-best, and record-breaking, 26-1 win-loss record so far this season, a few can argue of Thompson’s claims that he is the best player in his position. The Cavs missed both point guard Kyrie Irving and power forward Kevin Love due to injuries during last season’s finals, prompting James to provide an overpowering 35.8 points, 13.3 rebounds, and 8.8 assists over 45.8 minutes per game during the series, but ultimately failing to snap Cleveland’s half-century long championship drought.
This is, of course, Thompson’s opinion, but it has its merits.
Unlike Harden and Butler, who are the best player’s on their teams, Thompson isn’t even the second-best player on his.
