Javier Hernandez discusses life after Manchester United

December 24 05:52 2015

Hernandez joined United in 2010 from Guadalajara and was named their player of the year in his debut campaign at Old Trafford under Sir Alex Ferguson. “So as soon as we have seen that, and obviously on the back of the confidence of last week – and they had a very hard game in Europe this week – with all the factors, we really fancied ourselves”.

Hernandez scored nine goals in 33 games for Real, including a Champions League quarterfinal victor against Atletico Madrid. Van Gaal told me that he already had his strikers, that I would have to fight for a place but could take an offer if an opportunity arrives.

It is a precarious situation and United’s board face a huge decision if they do plan to let go of van Gaal.

In his interview with Spanish TV Fiebre Maldini, Hernandez confirmed reports that he had been forced out by Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal despite his interest to stay at the club.

Reflecting on his time at United, Hernandez said, “I was extremely lucky to be the first (Mexican) player to move to one of the biggest clubs in the world”.

“I just felt that coming in and trying to take my mind off things would make it a little bit easier and my family would want me to play”, said Arter.

While, the Red Devils have been struggling to score goals, Hernandez has been in superb form, scoring 17 goals in 20 appearances for the German outfit so far this season.

Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier Hernandez has revealed a conversation that led to his departure from Manchester United in the summer.

“I’m so grateful to Ferguson”, he said. I think he is the best manager in history for how he managed the squad.

Those results extended United’s run without a win to five games and has heaped the pressure on Van Gaal, who has subsequently found himself at the receiving end of criticism for his team’s recent results as well as their lack of goals this term.

Paul Merson claims the players released by Louis van Gaal were better than every single Manchester United player who started v Bournemouth.

At the same time, there is a realization that the right buy could greatly boost the club’s chances of winning the title this season, given the open nature of the title race.
