Alabama has unseasonably warm Christmas Eve

“We now know what it feels like in Eastern Canada to spend Christmas in Charleston, South Carolina, or Tallahassee, Florida”,  told CBC News.

In the Springfield area, temperatures are expected to be over 60 degrees by 9 a.m. and continue upward to a high of 66 to 70 degrees in the afternoon, according to Western Mass News.

On an average December 24, temperatures range from the upper 20s to the low 40s in New Jersey. The high on Christmas Day is expected to beat a daily record, after the high on Christmas Eve did. There will be a stray shower or two, though most of the holiday will turn out dry.

Cooler temperatures have returned to the area after Chicago fell a couple degrees short of matching a record for December warmth yesterday, although conditions will remain a bit milder than normal for this time of year through next week. This breaks the old record of 62 back in 1990.

Not only are we in for a snow-less Christmas, but the temperatures are going to be leaps and bounds above normal. This beat the previous record of 64 degrees, which was set just past year.

A record high for Christmas Eve in Syracuse was broken while you slept. The record was set in 1893.

The warmth is expected to be especially pronounced in the Mid-Atlantic states, where records began toppling shortly after midnight last night.
