Jay McGuiness responds to Aliona Vilani romance rumours following Strictly wrap party

December 27 13:26 2015

Jay McGuiness swigged down some whisky just before his performance on “Strictly Come Dancing” over the weekend.

“It’s been one of the most special things I’ve ever done, with the most special person”, Jay shared after getting over his own shock.

However, it has been revealed today that Aliona has made a decision to quit the show, stating that regardless of what had happened on this year’s series, it was always going to be her last.

Turning to her partner, who was making his first ever appearance in a final after 12 years, she said: “You’ve brought out the best in me and I really am forever grateful”.

It was finally up to the public to decide whether Georgia, Kellie or Jay should win the competition as they prepared to take on the show dance challenge. “All I wanted to do was get to the final”.

However, as the competition hotted up, he found himself at the bottom of the leader board at the end of his final three performances of the night, with Georgia taking the second spot and Kellie sitting pretty on top. “We’ll see”, he told radiotimes.com on whether he’d get an inking in memory of his time on the show.

BBC Proms presenter Katie Derham finished in fourth place, while Coronation Street actress Georgia May Foote came third.

McGuiness and Vilani’s showdance opened with the pop star suspended in a harness.

Kellie’s professional partner Kevin Clifton subsequently tweeted his support for Jay by writing that he was a “worthy” Strictly champion and “a lovely bloke” and that he had been “a credit to the show”.

Craig said that Kellie could be a worthy victor and told her that she was one of the most exciting performers he’d been witness to.

Meanwhile, Jay recently called Aliona his “best friend” and said their chemistry on the show was all part of the act.
