Lindsey Graham Drops from GOP Ticket

December 27 22:22 2015

Lindsey Graham announced Monday that he is suspending his 2016 campaign for president of the United States. He noted his emphasis on national security and improving the nation’s balance sheet, saying he “put forth bold and practical solutions to big problems”. This has been a problem solvers campaign.

Matt Moore, the chairman of the South Carolina Republican Party, confirmed that Graham was off the ballot within 40 minutes of the announcement. “I want to thank everyone who has taken this journey with me”.

Graham told CNN he doesn’t now have plans to endorse anyone else.

Graham also takes with him a wry sense of humor that he showcased on the campaign trail and in debates – though he never did qualify for one of the prime-time sessions, and was instead relegated to the earlier undercard events.

He now joins a long list of South Carolinians who have run for the White House but failed, including in recent times Fritz Hollings, Jesse Jackson and John Edwards.

Graham is known for his quick wit and famous for his one-liners (just ask Princess Buttercup about his report from the last debate), but he was sober, serious and emotional as he described his decision to leave the race just weeks before the voting begins. “However the centerpiece of my campaign has been securing our nation”, Graham said in his farewell video.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said he’s dropping out of the presidential race. The candidate never appeared on stage during any of the debates with higher polling candidates and instead was reduced to the “undercard” debates with lower-tier candidates. Graham, about to enter the crowded GOP field of presidential hopefuls, has announced he’s retiring from the Air Force Reserve.

Graham’s exit also assuredly will spark a scramble among the remaining 12 Republicans over who can lay claim to the foreign policy/national security leadership mantle.

“Lindsey’s been a good friend, been very good to the state of SC for years”, Taylor said.

The Republican cited the number of other candidates who have adopted his key issue position on the war against ISIL (Daesh) as his reason for withdrawing.

God bless our fighting men and women, and God bless America.

Graham said that Trump can not defeat Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton in the general election at this point and not “without some major adjustments”.

Graham once joked that if elected president, he could well form the first all-Jewish Cabinet.
