Green didn’t want to talk about the incident with reporters afterward but did allude to the fact that Mayo touching his head was not a good move for the Bucks guard to make.
“There are different ways of getting your point across rather than going to the media bashing one of our brothers”, Mayo said, via Yahoo’s Marc J. Spears.
Asked whether that was what the altercation was mostly about, Green said, “Once again, I’m not going to go into what he said, what you think he may have said, he may have said or may not have said, but no man is going to touch my head”.
The Bucks have proven themselves to be one of the only teams who are able to stand up against the Warriors and they were the dominating force in the first three quarters of the game.
Power forward Draymond Green scored eight consecutive points on a three-point play, a layup and a three-pointer, and Curry made all three free throws after being fouled on a long-range shot in an 11-point flurry that tied the scores with 6:08 to go.
The score was knotted at 108-108 when Curry drove for a basket with 2:16 to play and then added two free throws. Averaging only 4.8 minutes per game, so far, he has piled in 0.8 points on 66.7% field goal shooting, as written in ESPN. They dropped the final three games of their six-game home stand. “One thing about them, they’ve got a championship confidence”, George said. The run that never came in Milwaukee last Saturday finally arrived in front of a raucous crowd in Oakland, and ultimately the Bucks ran out of ammo against the league’s best team.
“We caused our struggles”.
The lead reached 40 points before the end of the third quarter, with Thompson pouring in 27 of his 43 in the period on nine-for-11 shooting. Carter-Williams led the Bucks with 24 points.
The Warriors lost their cool momentarily. With eight minutes left, the Bucks led 100-89, and appeared to be about to embarrass Golden State for the second time in a week.
The win was Golden State’s eighth straight at home over the Suns, who were playing for the third time in four nights. The Warriors are seeking their first three-game home winning streak over the Bucks since winning five straight between 1989 and 1994.
The Warriors cut into a 12-point halftime deficit in the third as the Bucks finally started missing shots. “We did it pretty decent for 18 minutes but you have to do it for all 48 minutes because they put them up quickly”. Was Oj mayo right about Green’s class? The Warriors hope to get SF Harrison Barnes (ankle) back before the end of the five-game homestand that began Wednesday.
Carter-Williams, who drew the ire of the Warriors on Saturday with his look toward the bench after a last-minute dunk, tallied 13 points in the first quarter while Curry struggled on defense.
“Dude, you lost your (starting) spot”, Green said at the time.
