Antonio Brown goalpost straddles the new year (of course he does)

Brown is in the midst of what could be the best season of his six-year career.

If they do get in, the Steelers are assured of playing a 10-win team on the road: Denver (11-4), Cincinnati (11-4) or Kansas City (10-5).

In hopes of educating teens about the dangers of football, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown took the Clairton (Pa.) football team to see “Concussion”, the recently released movie starring Will Smith as the doctor who linked repetitive head trauma with a degenerative brain disease in former NFL players.

Antonio Brown does not like losing to the Baltimore Ravens, especially three consecutive times. Brown, who also won in 2011 and 2013, got the nod in a vote by his teammates. He joins DB Rod Woodson, RB Jerome Bettis and WR Hines Ward as the only other players to win the team MVP three times….

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger did not practice Wednesday because he was sick.

Don’t expect the Steelers to take a “help wanted” sign with them to Cleveland on Sunday, and don’t look for Mike Tomlin to call Rex Ryan to offer encouragement.

Tomlin said the only injuries that will be monitored this week are safety Mike Mitchell, who aggravated his ailing shoulder; and cornerback Antwon Blake, who left the game in Baltimore with a lower back injury and did not return.
