Devastation for Joseph Duffy as he suffers first UFC defeat

January 03 11:45 2016

Their originally scheduled bout at UFC Dublin in October fell through when Duffy suffered a concussion, but it’s all systems go for tonight’s fight at UFC 195 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. “I want top 10 opponents”.

“I think that forces you to show other strengths and talents that you have”.

It was a strong opening effort from each, but Duffy took charge early, using his superior boxing technique to slip and move a lot of Poirier’s punches before landing several hard shots of his own, doing some solid work to the body. Previously, they keep me locked in and renegotiate when I have one fight left.

CBS Sports Radio 1140’s Ken Boehlke sat down with Dustin Poirier to talk about his upcoming fight, Fight Pass, the Food Network, and much more.

“I don’t get triangled, man, and I don’t get exhausted”.

Duffy was recently interviewed by MMAjunkie at his home training base at Tristar Gym in Montreal to promote the UFC 195 preliminary bout. “I’m fine with getting more subscribers, that’s the goal to push it”. Some teams are a bit amusing with outsiders coming in, but Tristar, they welcomed me with open arms and I’m really grateful for that.

Poirier isn’t looking ahead just yet and won’t take Duffy lightly. “I have time to eat pizza, drink beer and watch my buddy Robbie Lawler fight”. When I first came out, Tom was already there and me and Tom got on straight away.

UFC lightweight Dustin Poirier’s evening wasn’t half bad. Most nights, we’d be up ’til early hours chatting away and it was nice because we knew a lot of the same people.

“Irish fans are going to be talking about this for a long time”, he tells us in the preview.
