Alcatel OneTouch To Show Off Its First Windows 10 Tablet At CES

January 04 00:22 2016

The company has just announced a new lineup of Android smartphones and tablets at CES 2016 trade fair, but also an affordable Windows 10 Mobile tablet. Other hot features: TV remote control, voice-call enablement, GPS, and front and rear cameras.

Alcatel Onetouch is showcasing a slate of new products at International CES this week. Engadget pointed out that Alcatel says that the tablet will have an “entry level” design which means that it won’t be an expensive device.

Alcatel OneTouch will also unveil its Pixi 4 family of devices at the show which includes 3.5-inch and 4-inch smartphones, a 6-inch tablet and a slightly larger 7-inch tablet.

CES 2016 doesn’t officially start until for a couple of days, but Alcatel OneTouch has chose to kick things off a bit early with a tease of some new products. Lastly, the Windows 10-powered tablet is said to have customizable colour skins and comes with optional slip stand covers. In a press note, Alcatel OneTouch has designated these devices as “premium entry-level devices”.

It’s also worth mentioning that the Pixi 3 runs Windows 10 Mobile optimized for tablets, but those who already own a smartphone powered by the same version of the OS should feel at home on Alcatel’s new tablet.

The CareTime watch used 2G or EDGE speeds but doesn’t really need more than that, and another feature is built-in Global Positioning System so parents can keep track of where their kids are. What’s most fascinating about the device is that it will allow parents to call or send messages to their children. A companion app, compatible with iOS 7 and above and Android 4.3 and above, notifies parents if their kids enter or leave a predetermined safe zone. The wearable will make its way to Europe and Latin America first in April.
