Hillary Clinton, who held three town halls in New Hampshire on Sunday, has put the brakes on her usual Trump attacks since the NY real estate mogul began highlighting Bill Clinton’s sexual liaisons in the White House.
“You are very rude, and I’m not ever going to call on you”, Clinton told the heckler as the audience in Derry, N.H., cheered.
Speaking to Chris Cuomo on CNN, he said: “During the course of the debate and many other times, she [Mrs Clinton] used the word ‘sexist, ‘ I’m sexist”.
Finally, last month, when Bill Clinton was called a “secret weapon” by his wife, Donald Trump immediately reacted, accusing the former president of mistreating women and his wife allowing this abuse.
At a rally in Nashua, New Hampshire, the former president spoke about Clinton’s background and highlighted her personal success in his first solo appearance of the 2016 presidential race.
“Though Donald Trump has pushed around almost all of his fellow Republicans, Hillary Clinton won’t be bullied or distracted by attacks he throws at her and former President Clinton”, Clinton campaign deputy communications director Christina Reynolds said in a statement last week.
“The worst thing Hillary could do is have her husband campaign for her. Just watch”, he tweeted to his 5.5 million followers yesterday.
Trump told CBS that he’s best suited to beat Clinton in the general election because he’s the only Republican candidate “willing to talk about” her husband.
But some, especially Republicans who are bothered by Bill Clinton’s alleged sexual impropriety, saw the comment as hypocritical.
The former president went to New Hampshire in support of his wife, the former secretary of state, senator and first lady who leads polls for the Democratic nomination for the presidency.
“She could have gone to work for a fancy law firm, instead she took a job with a children’s defence fund”.
Trump sought to derail his rivals Monday, debuting his first television ad in both New Hampshire and Iowa, featuring dark images of the San Bernardino, California, shooters, body bags, and images of masked men. “I agree with her, that is true, they should be believed and we should assess what they are saying, she doesn’t even want to access it”.
During an interview in June 2014 for People, Clinton was asked about a time she reportedly referred to Monica Lewinsky as a “narcissistic loony toon”, and the presidential hopeful deferred.
Bill Clinton entered the campaign fray on Monday with a passionate endorsement of his wife’s suitability to follow in his footsteps to the Oval Office.
