Is Bill Clinton a real threat for Donald Trump?

“You are very rude and I’m not going to ever call on you”, Clinton snapped at O’Brien, after repeated shouted interruptions by the New Hampshire state senator.

“I do not believe in my lifetime anybody has run for this job at a moment of great importance who is better qualified by experience, knowledge, and temperament” than his wife, said the former president in Nashua, a stop marked by unusual punctuality as he quickly worked a rope line.

Clinton, returning to the political stage to stump for his wife for the first time since 2008, put on a more restrained performance than he did eight years ago, when he sometimes outshined Hillary in her first campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Trump spokeswoman Katrina Pierson recently suggested that the campaign will make an issue of Bill Clinton’s past behavior if his wife continues with the accusations of sexism toward Trump, while Democrats continue their broader attack on Republicans about their so-called “war on women”. It is unclear whether Mrs. Clinton was able to hear her comments.

New Hampshire has historically been good to the Clintons.

It was a speech given against a backdrop of Donald Trump ratcheting up his attacks on Mrs Clinton, with the GOP front-runner accusing the former secretary of state of “creating” the Islamic State.

Trump is not the only one taking aim at the Clintons; on Sunday, a heckler disrupted one of Hillary’s town halls in the Granite State. “I know I was impolite but in this whole scenario, you are angry at the wrong person, save that anger for Bill Clinton for being a sexual predator or for the woman who enables him-not me”, Prudhomme-O’Brien said.

From rescuing a faltering Northern Ireland peace process to paving the way for legislation to ensure children had health care, Mrs Clinton’s record had been one of solid achievement, the former president said.

“Hillary believes Broaddrick was raped and that is why she will not discuss it in any honest way”. He can say things about her that she can’t really say about herself.

Clinton centered his almost 30-minute remarks on his wife’s hopes for aiding the middle class and boosting people out of poverty, citing her work as a young attorney from Yale Law School who sought to provide legal services to poor people.

Many in the audience were displeased with O’Brien after the event, complaining that she ruined the event and that she only heckled Clinton as a way to get attention.
