Sharon Osbourne Gives Teen Stage Crasher the Boot at People’s Choice Awards

January 09 21:57 2016

Wednesday night brought us the People’s Choice Awards, and while we celebrated some great actors, shows, and movies, the highlight of the night was something we never expected.

Self-proclaiming herself as the Mother Theresa of Talk Shows and the Dalai Lama of Daytime, the always-hilarious Ellen DeGeneres characterized her awards for favorite talk show host and humanitarian as “so, so deserved, but insane”. Before the man could get any further with his interruption, Sheryl Underwood reclaimed the microphone and Sharon Osbourne proceeded to kick him in the leg.

Underwood took quick action as soon as she realised the intruder’s intentions, pulling the mic away from him and saying, “Uh uh”.

Perhaps she meant Kanye West, who did his best to upstage Taylor Swift a few year’s back at the MTV Video Music Awards.

All Twitter bowed down to Sharon’s roundhouse. Like I said, it’s not the Oscars. I had to chuckle when she pointed fun at the Miss Universe flub at the expense of comedian Steve Harvey.

There was more drama at the show when Dakota Johnson had a near disastrous wardrobe malfunction as she accepted the award for the steamy hit Fifty Shades of Grey. He said he always tells himself that he is “not going to get emotional about winning these awards“. Later, she presented “new” Most Deserving of People’s Choice Award to Thomas Lennon, before realizing that, wait, he was the first runner-up. While onstage, she made laugh-out-loud comments like “Would I call myself the Mother Theresa of talk shows, the Dalai Lama of daytime? The publication also mentioned that the “Fast and Furious” actor had begun to get ‘choked up” while thinking about his late co-star Paul Walker. “No, but I’m sure someone out there has!” she joked before insisting how important it is to be kind.

The audience enjoyed a steamy performances from Jason Derulo and a more sedate set from favourite breakout artist victor Shawn Mendes.
