Donald Trump Hammers Away At Ted Cruz’s Citizenship

Cruz and Trump are locked in pitched battle for the top two spots in Iowa and New Hampshire, the first two states in the presidential nominating contests that begin next month.

Cruz, who has long maintained there is no issue with his Canadian birth since his mother was a U.S. citizen, repeated Saturday that “the laws and facts are quite straightforward”.

Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz doesn’t agree with Donal Trump’s idea for a “deportation force” in dealing with undocumented immigrants living in the USA, saying that it has never been the way the country has enforced laws “for any crime”.

Trump questioned Cruz’s position on ethanol subsidies and hinted at the ongoing discussion surrounding Cruz’s USA citizenship. Trump said the term has not been adjudicated, and advised Cruz to seek a judgment. There were even questions about whether Trump truly wanted to be president or if he was just in the race for the attention. “I don’t know which populist will be effected, but we need change and I think Trump has that ability”.

In Ottumwa, he took a swipe at the Texas senator over ethanol, saying Cruz – who in the past has opposed federal subsidies for the corn-produced biofuel – is only now claiming he’s a friend of farmers.

Harris’ mother, Betty Cambra, 78, of Lincoln, California, said Cruz parrots Trump at every turn.

Trump first flagged the issue of Cruz’s birthplace in an interview with the Washington Post last week, in which Trump called the issue “very precarious”. But Graham also added, “I have no doubt I can’t support him”.

Gallup editor-in-chief Frank Newport said the polls can vary so much because it’s hard to figure out who’s likely to vote, people must choose between different candidates of their party rather than a single nominee, and independents in New Hampshire can decide at the last minute which party’s primary they want to vote in. “He wants jokes!” Trump said, ordering security to throw out the heckler.

“Whether you like it or not, Ted has to figure it out because… you can’t have the person that gets the nomination be sued like Hillary might be sued”, Trump said during a campaign rally in Windham, N.H.

On “Fox News Sunday”, asked whether he was “trolling” Cruz by spreading negative information about him, Trump said he was not.

That broader definition, Tribe said, would include anyone who was a United States citizen at birth and did not need to be naturalised.

Despite that infighting, there is little evidence of widespread alarm from establishment Republican leaders and their well-funded supporters about Trump and Cruz.

Trump tops Cruz nearly 4-1 on the negative list as 26 percent of Iowa Republican Caucus-goers say they “would definitely not support” Trump while 7 percent say they would not support Cruz.
