‘The Bachelor’ recap: Not so ideal first dates

During Monday night’s The Bachelor broadcast, LB, a 23-year-old fashion buyer from Stillwater, OK, made a decision to quit the show after Higgins asked her to accept a rose during the twentieth season’s second Rose Ceremony. Then they actually get into a hot tub with Hart and the whole time Caila is doing that thing where her mouth is smiling but her eyes are saying “Why did I have to get a hot tub store date instead of a beach picnic date?”

“I don’t really know what rose ceremonies are”, Caridi quipped after she got the group date rose.

LB later denied a rose from Ben, so Amber got the rose.

But Olivia was having none of Lace’s drama, telling the cameras, “I think it’s easy when you’re stressed and you’re frustrated with your own relationship and the progress that it’s making, I’m like the punching bag”.

“I was waiting for my heart to catch up with the story of us meeting on the plane”, she says. Adorable! I assume she then floated home to Amazon Prime some 5-inch heels, because this is no time to play hard/short to get. Ben calls her name to give her a rose, and she pulls him aside and tells him she can’t do it. The other girls are like “whaaaaat?” but more power to her, I say. Olivia, the news anchor who was awarded the first impression rose last week, earned the highest score. And we’re back! Ben gets busy, kissing three random J’s (Jennifer, Jojo, Jubilee) and tenderly stroking all four limbs of Becca the Extra Virgin after she expertly handles the most sacred of all adult toys: a basketball.

Playing off “the ideal 10, “The Bachelor’s promos have been all about how flawless Ben is, which kind of felt like they were setting him up for an inevitable fall from grace”.

So, is there one woman in particular they cared for the most? They mostly didn’t have to worry, though, because Ben likes how they smell. While Olivia was “very sweet”, Samantha was “sour.” Eek.

In the new episode 3, Ben is takes Lauren Bushnelkl and Jubilee Sharpe out on 1 on 1 dates. According to Reality Steve, Amanda will make it all the way to the Hometown Dates on The Bachelor! At least Samantha waited to mourn the loss of a man she barely knew until after she exited the house. She rambles on about how her brothers used to make fun of her and really it makes no sense and shows her craziness even more.
