Cold temperatures will continue into next week with below average readings continuing.
Temperatures have been holding near steady today, in the low 30s.
Showers continue to push across the region this evening as much colder air sweeps in. Wind Chill values on Friday afternoon will likely stay in the 20s for several hours. The best chance of accumulating snow will occur north of a Kansas City to Jefferson City line with a dusting to an inch of snow.
A series of fast moving upper level disturbances will move across the Plains next week. After highs Thursday reached 60 in Emporia, 58 in Topeka and 57 in Manhattan, we expect to see maximum temperatures only in the middle to upper 30s on Friday.

Mid-January brought the first true Arctic air of the season for many, but late this week the pattern has relaxed a bit, allowing milder air to get established over the eastern half of the country.
An Arctic front will arrive on Sunday morning, bringing a few scattered snow showers.
