In a bittersweet, emotional atmosphere, they grieved and celebrated the life of Bowie, who succumbed to a secret battle with cancer Sunday, at Hansa Studios next to where the Berlin Wall once divided the city.

The event was organized by Paul McCartney and featured plenty of British musicians, including the opening act, the recently deceased David Bowie.

“We’re going to try to make it exciting and spectacular and interesting”.

“Good-bye, David Bowie. You are now among #Heroes”.
