Microsoft Windows 10 Welcomes Dropbox App

January 22 20:02 2016

For now, you can enjoy the much-improved Dropbox app on your Windows 10-powered PC or tablet.

At the same time, there also seems to be a minor improvement when right-clicking a certain word on a loaded website, allowing you to perform a “Bing lookup” and search for more information on that select word or phrase. Besides, with the new Interactive Device Notifications, users can accept a shared folder for instance, without having to open the Notification section of the app.

Of course, the current desktop Dropbox client also supports Windows 10. The updated OneCore will allow the company to compile Windows 10 builds faster.

The app was also developed as part of an expanded partnership with Microsoft. After the success of Windows 7, Microsoft attempted to make an operating system that would work on desktop computers, laptop computers, and small mobile devices such as tablets and phones.

Apart from the possibility of annoying gamers, the Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 11102 could cause the wireless card to stop recognizing the OS, thus asking for a driver update.

To me, this is yet another ham-fisted effort to force Windows 7 and 8.1 customers to move to Windows 10 – because Windows 10 on PCs using these new processors will be supported.

Microsoft says that a mobile version of this app is “coming soon”, but didn’t give a launch date.

The previous version of the Dropbox app was compatible with Windows 8 and 10, but it did not deliver the Windows 10 experience and attracted a modest 3.6 average customer rating.

DROPBOX HAS been showing the love for Microsoft again with the unveiling of its Universal Windows app.

Microsoft and Dropbox first started working together in 2014, when they integrated Office with the cloud storage provider so users could edit Word, PowerPoint and Excel files directly in the Dropbox app, a feature that rolled out in April the following year. Windows 10 now runs on more than 200 million devices according to Microsoft, so the app might result in a significant increase in the usage of the service.

Microsoft may delay some features of Redstone update
