Canadian singer Celine Dion, whose husband died earlier this week, is facing another family crisis with a brother on the verge of death, a Montreal newspaper has reported.
Celine Dion’s brother Daniel has died, just days after the death of her husband Rene Angelil. He was one of 14 Dion siblings.
Today reports that a funeral for Angelil will be held next week at the Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal. The family is remembering a gentle and reserved man of many talents, the statement said.
René was first diagnosed with throat cancer in April 1998 but made a full recovery from the illness before contracting it again in December 2013. I worked exclusively with Rene and Celine for the next seventeen years and he truly was the most wonderful person to work with.
Convinced of the young singer’s potential, Angelil mortgaged his house to dedicate himself full-time to promoting Dion’s career.
