Chelsea steward sacked for Cesc Fabregas insult

January 24 20:01 2016

Cesc Fabregas has hit out at referee Mark Clattenburg after he was denied a penalty in Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Arsenal on Sunday. In the video, the steward, who is coincidentally an Arsenal fan, was seen calling out to Fabregas as he’s walking by in the tunnel using the words, “Cesc Snake!”

The incident happened earlier this season at Stamford Bridge, with footage appearing online on Friday.

The Spaniard made 503 appearances for Arsenal, after joining as a 15-year-old from Barcelona in 2003.

But, after being deemed surplus to requirements at the Camp Nou, the midfielder signed for Jose Mourinho’s Blues in the summer of 2014.

A Chelsea spokesman told MirrorSport: “The steward no longer works at Stamford Bridge“.

And Fabregas responded on the full-time whistle by tapping the Chelsea badge towards Arsenal fans sat near the tunnel.

He won the Premier League title and Capital One Cup in his first season at Chelsea but has struggled for form – like many of his teammates – this term.
