Ole Miss charged with 30 NCAA violations in three sports

Citing sources, Yahoo Sports reports that Ole Miss received a Notice of Allegations from the NCAA enforcement staff alleging approximately 30 violations in the Rebels’ football, women’s basketball, and track and field programs. He was suspended as a precautionary measure and missed the first seven games of the season before returning to the team. But after one season, Tennessee fired Tyndall when the NCAA was readying its Notice of Allegations for the coach and the Southern Miss program, indicating Tyndall lied to officials during the hiring process.

Numerous reports are indicating the University of MS has been notified the NCAA has found numerous violations involving several of their sports teams.

A MS cheerleader runs along the end zone with an oversized Ole Miss flag following a score in the second half of an NCAA college football game in Oxford, Miss., Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015. In terms of football, Forde indicated that “multiple SEC coaches and administrators have voiced concerns about Ole Miss [recruiting practices]”. He also denied his involvement to the NCAA and failed to cooperate. While the exact charges have not been made public, the university will have 90 days to respond to the NCAA’s claims.

However, Ole Miss released a statement Friday afternoon regarding the allegations.

“As has been the case for the past three years, we are bound by confidentiality and can not comment publicly on the matter”, said Bjork.
