Pokken Tournament at EVO Fighting Game Tournament

Evo, the world’s highly-anticipated premier fighting game tournament that is slated to take place this coming July, has announced its lineup for this year’s upcoming event, and there are a number of notable surprises. However, Cuellar also stated that if there is enough fan support and convention space, there is a possibility for a smaller, independent USF4 tournament. The biggest fighting game tournament of the year has been headlined for almost the entirety of the last decade by an incarnation of Street Fighter IV.

Some, however, believe that the fighting game’s removal is simply indicative of Evo’s desire to push its successor, “Street Fighter 5”.

The line-up for this year’s EVO tournament has been revealed, and it’s the end of an era somewhat, as Super Street Fighter IV will no longer be part of the schedule. We’ll see how all of these games will play out when EVO begins this summer.
