Rams discuss bringing Peyton to L.A. in 2016

However ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports there is at-least one team in the National Football League who still views the soon-to-be 40-year-old as a solution to their quarterback situation.

Manning certainly doesn’t present anything more than a stopgap starter whose presence would suggest the Rams are geared toward a win-now mentality.

The Broncos had every member of the 53-man roster practicing fully on Thursday, which means it is unlikely that any of those players will miss Super Bowl 50 because of an injury. It could be a reality, as a new report claims the Rams have discussed the idea of picking up Manning in the offseason.

If Manning decides he wants to play another year, it will be interesting to see what the Broncos do. They did land a centerpiece in the 2015 draft to build their offense around in first-round pick Todd Gurley, but Los Angeles needs a field general to complement its dynamic tailback.

This does appear to be Manning’s last season. Foles started 11 games and threw for 2,052 yards, seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions for a passer rating of 69.0. Nick Foles was terrible in 2015 as well, finishing as the second-worst rated passer in 2015. The Rams are moving to Los Angeles without a quarterback but with a talented defense and a potentially dominant running game. “I’ve played 18 years, played for five different head coaches, I played a couple of systems with a lot of different teammates, and I think the fact that I’ve been flexible, been willing to learn new things, try new things, take different styles of coaching, I think that has helped me”. He’s not the answer for the Rams, so they will be looking at their options this offseason. It’s likely that he will retire, and that’s the best option for him as well regardless of who is interested in him.
