Lady Gaga bowled over by Superbowl performance

She’d previously hailed singing the national anthem at the Super Bowl as a “dream come true” and even managed to bring some of the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers players to tears.

And never one to let her voice do all the talking, Gaga totally killed it in the style department too, matching her eye make-up with her trouser suit! There was something pure about the way she sang it, not overdoing the melisma like her 2011 predecessor Christina Aguilera and nearly venturing into operatic territory with those big notes and sending goosebumps over the audience with that ringing last word “brave”.

KHLOE Kardashian, Gigi Hadid and Ellen DeGeneres were among the stars wowed by Lady Gaga’s performance at the Super Bowl. However, most of the spectators won’t notice and care all about mistakes, emotion or any other details of the United States national anthem except one aspect of the performance – its length.

A third, for some reason, chose to add in a Grease reference, saying: “Lady Gaga’s Star-Spangled Banner gave me chills and they’re multiplying!” It was fitting. In the buildup to the Super Bowl, CBS pulled out footage of CBS great Jackie Gleason talking about the very first Super Bowl, which aired on the network.
