Premier League leaders Leicester stunned nearest rivals Manchester City with a convincing victory at Etihad Stadium to move five points clear.
The team that began the campaign at 5,000-1 no hopers are now 2-1 to beat Arsenal, Man City and Spurs to the title.
“For Leicester the pressure was at the beginning of the season when we started out because our goal was to maintain our position in the Premier League“.
Huth opened the scoring from a third-minute Mahrez free-kick and headed in Leicester’s third goal on the hour after Mahrez had darted through the ragged City defense to make it 2-0.
“I don’t believe in the bookmakers”, Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri said.
Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri, however, has played down such talk, and Fuchs reiterated that the word “title” is now non-existent at the King Power Stadium. “We must enjoy. This league is so unusual and now it is important to think about Arsenal”.
“It’s a big game and an important weekend for the Premier League”.
City hoped to pull level with Ranieri’s team at the top of the table but instead ended the day trailing them by six points.
“I’ve been here for a while now and there’s been seasons where it hasn’t gone so well up until now and you find yourself putting a run together, winning games and you end up having a successful season”.
“Riyad Mahrez is a magician and [Jamie] Vardy a striker of breathtaking industry and guile (one or the other must win player of the season), but the true magic of Leicester emerges from the collective”.
The updated English Premier League 2015-16 table after Week 25 can be viewed on the league’s official website.
“The first goal was very good for our confidence and then we closed all the space because we played in a very concentrated and determined way through all the match”. “We must have a very strong mentality and try to prepare for the game against Tottenham in the best way we can”.
City’s home loss to Leicester was compounded by Tottenham edging Watford 1-0 and replacing Manuel Pellegrini’s team in second place.
Pellegrini added that David Silva left the field in the 77th minute after aggravating an ankle injury and he could now be doubtful for next week’s key clash against Tottenham.
