Sturridge expected to make Liverpool return

Attack: Liverpool have been handed a welcome triple injury boost in attack with Daniel Sturridge, Philippe Coutinho and Divock Origi all back in the squad after recovering from injuries.

“It is always about who is available and who played the last game”.

It is believed that club officials are reviewing the plans while chief exec Ian Ayre cancelled a televised Q&A session today. They’ve had ups and downs this season but make no mistake, whenever a team is facing them, you have to have a complete game.

Even if those two don’t make the starting line-up, it will be an absolute travesty if they’re not on the bench.

“The last game [against West Ham] was a good one for us – we saw what we are able to do, so we should do it again or better”.

Klopp was rushed to accident and emergency over the weekend with a serious bout of appendicitis and missed Liverpool’s disappointing draw at home against relegation-threatened Sunderland.

“If I am not fit then I can not help here and I would be at home”. It was necessary to be courageous [to choose that team] against West Ham in the first game but I didn’t see it as too fearless, to be honest. “Everything is okay and we don’t have to talk about this any more“.

“I can’t win the game with my emotions outside, I know this, so I can handle it no worries”.

Klopp has been impressed with how Sturridge has trained lately, evident by selecting the striker for the bench against Sunderland.

The striker, who has not played since early December, has been included in the squad for the clash to boost Klopp’s hand having been named among the subs on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp offered a update on the trio’s injury status at his pre-match press conference, but said it’s unlikely they will all start the game.

“I hope to have Divock and Philippe Coutinho in the squad”, he said.

“We spoke to him and he said “Yeah I’d like to”, but then the game had a different story and there was no possibility with the two early changes we had to make in the game”.

“Extra-time is possible so it is a little bit complicated”.
