Thierry Henry : “John Terry Must Remain At Chelsea'”

February 10 01:24 2016

Chelsea captain John Terry said there had been “no communication” between him and the club following his announcement that he was leaving at the end of the season.

The former England captain has led Chelsea throughout their most successful period in history, lifting everything from the Premier League to the Champions League- breaking out a full kit for the latter, despite being suspended for the final.

Chelsea supporters made their feelings clear to the onlooking owner Roman Abramovich at Stamford Bridge, singing “sign him up” repeatedly, while the usual fan banners at either end of the ground were peeled back so one remained.

This was Chelsea’s first home match since the news broke and there were other, homemade banners supporting Terry, one comparing his worth favourably to technical director Michael Emenalo.

“He added: “(The atmosphere was) incredible, they’re the best fans in the world. “They’re hard ones for the referee but inside the box, it’s going in, so it’s got to be a pen for me”.

Hiddink said: “He is not focusing on this issue”.

Souness sees no justification for allowing Terry to leave. I think he’s within his right to say, ‘I’m going to let everybody know exactly what the situation is’.

John Terry and Gary Cahill can rediscover their partnership for Chelsea despite uncertainties over their futures, Cesar Azpilicueta says.

“We’re in that mid-table area and teams around us are dropping points”. I don’t think the guys they’re trying to buy are going to have the same influence he’s having at the moment.

Chelsea extended the somewhat impressive unbeaten run to eleven games yesterday, but also had to settle, somewhat less impressively, for yet another draw, the second against Manchester United in a little over a month, this time on our turf.

Terry, 35, said last week that he had not been offered a new deal when his contract expires in the close season.

“It’s a very unsafe road to go down”.
