Saturday: It will be a frigid day, despite mostly sunny skies. There will be light snow and flurries with some isolated snow showers lingering to the north into the night. More importantly, the region will get progressively colder heading into the weekend.
The high was expected to reach only around 16 on Wednesday, and wind chills will linger in the low single digits through Thursday afternoon, when the temperature will climb into the low 20s, and wind chills will be in the low to mid teens. High temperatures will be in the 20’s with overnight lows in the teens. Winds made it feel more like it was in the teens outside, despite lows in the mid 20s.
There is another chance for accumulating snow later Sunday into Monday next week, too. Winds could gust up to 33 miles per hour across the state. More clouds build in during the afternoon/evening time. Temperatures will drop to around 10 degrees by daybreak and wind chills will be below zero for parts of the night.
The core of the arctic air arrives Wednesday. Clouds and flurries will be possible Saturday.
