The film’s director, Alejandro G. Inarritu, also won the BAFTA in his category Sunday, following earlier wins at the Golden Globes and the DGA Awards.

Beasts Of No Nation star Idris Elba, who is nominated for best supporting actor, and Star Wars actor John Boyega, a rising star nominee, are the only black actors to appear in this year’s Bafta shortlist.
The BAFTAs 2016 takes place on Sunday night and a host of Hollywood and worldwide actors and actresses will be in attendance in London to find out who wins this year’s top awards.

The original music award went to Ennio Morricone for The Hateful Eight, and best British short film was Operator. “I love you very much”.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens also won the Bafta for special visual effects.
“The Revenant” beat several hotly tipped awards contenders, including Steven Spielberg’s Cold War thriller “Bridge of Spies” and Todd Haynes’ lesbian romance “Carol“. I have to say as an actor I’ve been so influenced by so many British actors throughout the years.
She said the charity would be setting membership targets on diversity and indicated those who decided on nominations should be “qualified” and working in the film industry.
Spotlight is the favorite to take the award, but as we know, it’s not always the favorite heading into the awards show that ends up taking the big prize.
DiCaprio said it was out of his hands, but expressed pride in what he called “not just a film, but an epic journey we all went on”.
Meanwhile, Mad Max: Fury Road won the award for costume design.
