It is called the Freedom 251 and priced just under $4. It comes with a number of pre-installed apps, including Facebook, WhatsApp, YouTube, Google Play and others.
Ringing Bells was established in 2015 and has its headquarters in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
The launch of Freedom 251 is also in line with the Indian government’s goals to connect every Indian and enrich their lives, as well as attract global and local businesses to manufacture in India.
The device will be available for booking via www.freedom251.com starting from February 18th, 6:00 AM and the window will be open till February 21, 8:00 PM.
Memory: The smartphone comes with 8GB internal storage and if that is not sufficient for you, it can be expanded upto 32GB. The deliveries for India’s most affordable smartphone will be completed by June 30, the company said in a statement.
The new Freedom 251 smartphone will be formerly launched by tonight by Indian Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar, which gives the whole thing more credibility.
On the rear is a 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera and for selfies there is a 0.3-megapixel front-facing snapper. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz Quad core Processor with 1GB of RAM. Its connectivity attributes include 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and packs a 1,450 mAh battery.
A new entrant in the Indian mobile phone market, Ringing Bells had launched one of India’s cheapest 4G smartphone at Rs 2,999, recently. Besides the unprecedented price point, it’s also worth noting that the device shown on the company’s site and the one shown in its newspaper ad don’t remotely resemble each other.
There is not much known about Ringing Bells and how they are able to sell a smartphone for less than $4.
