Apple has launched a program that now includes Android and Windows Phones as trade-ins for a new iPhone.
The new program-called Trade Up with Installments-combines Apple’s existing iPhone upgrade program with trade-in offers. If you trade in an old iPhone 4 with the new Trade Up Installment program, the monthly cost for a 128GB iPhone 6s Plus can be reduced to $35.37 per month from the $44.91 per month you’d normally pay. The original trade-in program offers up to $350 for old iPhones, and the iPhone Upgrade program lets users get the latest iPhone, along with the AppleCare Plus service, for a monthly rate starting at $32.41 for 24 months. This monthly payment scheme also applies for those trading in their iPhone 5 for an iPhone 6. “So, for example, if someone were to trade in an iPhone 4 for a 16GB iPhone 5s and receive maximum trade in value, the monthly payment would be on the lower end, equating to $14.58/month”. For example, you can trade in your current iPhone 6 to get a new iPhone 6s with a 2-year payment plan of $15/mo.
Trade Up With Installments is a new way to purchase an iPhone at an Apple store. In a way, Apple’s new program is a hybrid of its pre-existing upgrade program and the company’s reuse and recycling program. That means that you can use it with the carrier of your choosing. A customer with an iPhone 5c who wants an iPhone 6 would pay an estimated $14.54/month for a new unlocked device.
Until you pay it off you’re renting the device so if you drop your iPhone out of a helicopter you still have to pay it off like you would had you bought it outright.

Apple didn’t’ disclose how much you’d get for an eligible Android phone.
Credit under the various plans is handled by Citizens Bank. That’s $100 for the iPhone 4 and 4S; $200 for the 5, 5C and 5S; $300 for the 6; and $350 for the 6 Plus.
