Defense attorneys: Dallas police have enough to charge Manziel with assault

Three weeks after Johnny Manziel allegedly kidnapped and then assaulted his ex-girlfriend, the Dallas police department has obtained video of the incident, Sporting News’ Joe Rodgers reported Saturday.

Although the police department did not announce what is on the video, an ESPN source said it shows an encounter between Manziel, his ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley and a valet at the Hotel ZaZa in Dallas.

In the affidavit, Crowley says she and Manziel had a confrontation in his Dallas hotel room around 1.45 am on January 30. The detective in charge of the case has yet to speak to Manziel about the alleged incident, Boyle said.

She said that after hitting her, he threatened to kill himself as he drove her to Fort Worth.

Fox Sports reports that although Manziel has not been arrested, a judge has issued Crowley a protection order against the athlete.

So that makes it pretty impressive that one not-so-discreet, mid-season trip to Las Vegas spawned its own beer, until you remember that trip was from none other than Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel.

The police confirmed they were investigating the matter on February 5 and have yet to resolve the investigation. They continued, “The detective hasn’t gotten all the facts yet”.
