Former Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle was trying to run people over with his auto before he was arrested over the weekend, according to a report. His life has spiraled out of control with a string of five arrests in the last 17 months.
After officers arrived Randle was taken into custody on suspicion of aggravated battery and possession of drugs.
Then, Randle returned and busted through the front door, Espinoza said.
The arrest is the fifth for Randle and the second during February. Police said he showed up at his ex-girlfriend’s home, hoping to get some sleep before driving back to Kansas.
Randle, a Wichita, native, was arrested just after 8 a.m. Sunday.
Randle began the 2015 season as the starting running back for the Cowboys but was released at midseason.
In November, Randle was brought in on charges after allegedly attempting to fight a security guard at a casino.
A bond has been set at $100,000 (£71,000).
The Cowboys waived Randle on November 3, citing violations of the NFL’s personal conduct policy.
Randle has had a string of run-ins with the law, beginning with a 2014 shoplifting arrest. Since joining the Cowboys in 2013, Randle played in 35 games and rushed for 822 yards and nine touchdowns.
