How did Hillary Clinton win Nevada?

In Nevada, Clinton won the democratic primary by a margin of four percent and received four more delegates than Bernie Sanders.

In an appearance on CNN’s State of the Union Sunday morning, Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton said she can “understand” questions voters have about her trustworthiness.

Clinton narrowly won the Democratic caucuses in Iowa over rival Vermont Sen.

With almost all precincts reporting Sunday, Clinton sat comfortably at 53 percent while Sanders trailed at 47 percent. But that comeback effort wasn’t fast enough to overcome her built-in advantages and deny her a victory.

“Some may have doubted us, but we never doubted each other”, Clinton told her cheering supporters during a victory rally in Las Vegas. We need more than a plan for the big banks; the middle class needs a raise and we need more jobs.

“Well, I’ve been called some bad names and derogatory names as far as race is concerned”, said Lewis-Burks, who is African American.

While Sanders has made similar insinuations about Clinton in the past (and has been accused by her of running a negative campaign of innuendo), on Monday he was more forceful and blunt than he has been recently. “That is a major breakthrough for us in reaching out to a diverse nation”, he said.

“And I want to say this to all the young people out there: I know what you’re up against”, Clinton said. Sanders is still a formidable candidate. Not only that, but the head of the Democratic Party, Debbie Wasserman Schultz recently stated to MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow that the way people are keeping count right now is not even appropriate.

“Sanders is really only focusing on one group, one voting block, and that really is a majority of white, young people”. Despite a clearer path to the nomination, she can not be complacent.

So winning 19 delegates to Bernie’s 15 is somehow “yuuge”, to borrow from Trump.

And there’s still the question of turnout.

“To everyone who turned out in every corner of Nevada with determination and heart: This is your win”.

Clinton got a little star power in her bid for support with a new ad out, narrated by actor Morgan Freeman. And he has overwhelmed her in New Hampshire, virtually tied her in Iowa. Fifty-six percent of nonwhite voters also supported her. Black voters in particular helped Clinton win: 76 percent backed her. No Republican in modern times has won New Hampshire and SC and then failed to win the nomination, notes the AP.
