Xiaomi took the centre stage at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona to unveil their newest flagship smartphone, the Mi 5. It is good to know that this is the first smartphone that features Xiaomi’s Mi Video Calling app, which is a new cross platform video chat that includes multitasking modes and live video effects. It weighs just 129 grams with a 7.25mm thickness and the handset definitely looks sleek.
The Xiaomi brand is known for making affordable phones and the Mi5 delivers lots of beauty along with an attractive price.
Going by the price points – Xiaomi has kept it really aggressive.
For a better battery life Xiaomi Mi 5 is incorporated with a 3000 AH battery and quick charging system.It is said that this new device will support not only 3G connection but also 4G AND 4G +.
The 4S has been powered by the Snapdragon 808 chipset along with 3GB of RAM.
As expected, the Mi 5 will launch in China first, on March 1st to be exact, with white, black, and gold color options.
MWC 2016 has kicked off and many companies have come forward to unveil their latest smartphones at the event. However, don’t be too thrilled about it, as Xiaomi will start selling it in China initially, and it’s not even clear whether the phone will make it to other worldwide markets.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 comes with 16MP rear camera with 4-axis optical image stabilization (OIS) feature, which is more effective at compensating for handshake in a variety of shooting scenarios. Xiaomi has also used UFS 2.0 memory, which it claims to be 75 percent faster than eMMC 5.1.
Another difference between the models is that the high-end model with 128GB of storage has a ceramic back, while the cheaper models have glass panels on the back. It has a 16-megapixel camera sensor provided by Sony. It features glass on its front and back while metal accents line the sides. Interestingly company chose to sell its phone initially only in China and didn’t disclose much on global availability.
