Paresh Rajwat, product management – News Feed Monetiation, responded: “The same rules will apply as they always have done in Facebook, no specific process will apply for this platform”.
Social network Facebook announced the official rollout of its new tool – called “Canvas” – for advertisers, unfolding an immersive mechanism for companies to reach out to consumers from within the popular social networking site.
Facebook started work on Canvas in late 2014, and it’s designed to meet marketers’ demands for more “ownable” space (read: larger real estate) so they can create cutting-edge experiences on mobile devices, according to D’Arcy.
In tests, the unit loads as much as 10 times faster than the standard mobile web, by Facebook’s calculations. “Advertisers can use a mix of video, still images, text and call-to-action buttons”. “We’ve invested in engaging experiences like video and the carousel format to empower advertisers with more creative space to share their brand and products on mobile”, read the blog post.
Facebook has officially rolled out its Canvas ad platform. “In 2015, the average website page was three times bigger than it was in 2011, and slow load times are a top reason people abandon a website”.
Facebook said developing a better user experience was its first priority, with fast-loading playing a huge part in this, since nearly 50 per cent of responsive mobile sites take over five seconds to load.
That, of course, means that users are less likely to stray from Facebook’s news feed, and are thus able to consume more advertising among their updates. In its fourth-quarter earnings report, Facebook said 80% of its advertising revenue is from mobile devices. As with traditional ads, different Canvases can be built to target different demographics.
What happened?Social network Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) has now launched Canvas, a new platform for advertisers to deliver immersive ad experiences within Facebook. “We see people spending over 30 seconds in these experiences”. The announcement of its launch was made during an event in NY this week. Canvas ads can be up to 70 seconds long and 53% of users that click on a Canvas ad stick around to view at least half of it. The average Canvas ad view time is an astonishing 31 seconds. Similarly, Asus created a Canvas with the theme “End bad gifts” during the 2015 holiday shopping season.
