A document given to the website obtained by known tipster Geno – NX, Pokemon, IllumiRoom – has been backed up by a second source, suggesting the information could well be accurate.
In an attempt to lure some hardcore gamers to the Wii U, Nintendo financed Bayonetta 2, a game that, despite the strong reviews of its predecessor, had been canned by Sega. A sequel to the cult-classic 2003 action-adventure game, Beyond Good & Evil 2 was first unveiled by Ubisoft in 2008. The title references the philosophical text Beyond Good And Evil by Friedrich Nietzsche. If the information is to be believed, Nintendo has pulled a Bayonetta 2, securing the Beyond Good and Evil sequel as an NX exclusive for 2017. We’ll hopefully get confirmation that indeed Beyond Good & Evil 2 is alive and well at E3, regardless of what platform. And are you excited for Beyond Good & Evil 2 if they are? Since the Nintendo NX is expected to launch later this year, it means the sequel is not going to be a launch title for the console. Destructoid also points out that Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto was specifically mentioned in Tim Schafer and Michel Ancel’s recent Devs Play for Beyond Good and Evil which, considering the rumors, makes a bit of sense.
The game now has a working title of Beyond Good and Evil: The Prejudices of Philosophers, and Nintendo is said to be funding the project in the hopes to win “audience goodwill”.
While we would advise taking all of this with a large grain of salt, though Destructoid has been fairly good with its rumours in the past few months (remember Until Dawn: Rush of Blood for the PlayStation VR).
