Hillary Clinton Begins Push for Republicans and Independents Worried About Donald Trump

So this wasn’t just the end of the Cruz campaign in Indiana.

Not all Republicans are opposed to falling in line, however.

“I don’t want to talk too much about it as I am considering a couple of people”.

A day after a decisive IN primary victory left Trump the sole GOP presidential contender standing, aides to House Speaker Paul Ryan and other top Republicans did not immediately return phone and email messages seeking comment. “Not only uniting Republicans, but also reaching out and uniting Independents with Republicans”, Benton continued.

The Democratic presidential race is nearly over, but it’s already “game on” in the battlefield between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

“United is how we win”.

While touting his ability to flip indebted ventures into profitability and to emerge unscathed from his companies’ bankruptcies, Trump said Puerto Rico needs to “cut that debt way down” without the US federal government’s help.

Trump, a former reality television star who has never held public office, suggested he might make a more conventional choice as his running mate. While some, such as Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, have wearily pledged their support for Trump, other influential conservatives have refused to rally behind him. Cruz had counted on winning IN in an effort halt Trump’s seemingly unstoppable rise to the nomination.

“From the beginning, I’ve said that I would continue on as long as there was a viable path to victory”, Cruz said in his announcement. “I think he’s got some political capital”.

“I plan to put all of my support behind the Republican nominee and do whatever is asked of me to ensure a Republican is elected president”, said Rep. Michael Burgess, R-Texas, in a statement that lacked Trump’s name.

Some conservative pundits, such as Philip Klein and Erick Erickson, said they wouldn’t support Trump, either. Trump has raised $589,740 from the state.

Trump also weighed in on pressing foreign policy issues, including aggressive moves Russian warplanes have made recently near US naval ships and how his proposal to temporarily ban Muslims would impact USA relations with Muslim nations. Notable exceptions include Attorney General Pam Bondi, who endorsed Trump before Florida’s March 15 primary election, and Gov. Rick Scott, who backed Trump after he won 66 out of 67 Florida counties in that vote. “I love debt”, Trump said. She said she would “most likely” go for Clinton over Trump, but stressed that she wasn’t “100 percent”.
