It’s presumed the two women are a couple, strolling along with their baby and considering the lack of LGBTQ representation in Disney films, it’s hopeful news for present and future gay Disney fans.

But one particular moment has sparked rumours that the film will include a lesbian couple – and occurs when an octopus appears to knock a baby out of a pram. These three new global trailers don’t quite do the same thing, but they do show off quite a bit more footage of the upcoming Finding Nemo sequel.

Finding Dory has already garnered considerable buzz for its June release after the latest trailer dropped last week, racking up more than four million views.

Users on social media are speculating that the ladies pictured are the first same-sex couple to appear in a Disney Pixar film.

Some fans have threatened to boycott the movie.

Another shared her initial confusion thinking the lesbians were a pair of fish.

The new trailer has a few new scenes which we haven’t seen in the previous trailers and even a couple of new characters, like the walruses (the last scene was damn amusing!).

Disney has been criticised by GLADD for not featuring one gay character in the 11 feature films it released in 2015. “I think I’m gonna cry!” This is the first time a film has used this technology.
