Pregnant NBC ‘Today’ anchor Guthrie skipping Olympics due to Zika

June 07 23:00 2016

“NBC’s “Today” host Savannah Guthrie is pregnant and will skip coverage of the Olympics in Brazil because of the Zika virus, she announced Tuesday”.

Savannah drew a question “at random” from the bowl, and on it was written “Are you pregnant?” “The doctors say that we shouldn’t because of the CDC, because of the Zika virus, so I’ll miss it”, she said. Guthrie asks her little one (dressed in a shirt that reads “I was here first”), to which Vale responds, “No!”

The first pregnancy came as a surprise as Guthrie and Feldman prepared to get married.

The Today show also shared a video on Twitter of Savannah telling the news to her toddler Vale, who was less than pleased with the news.

Guthrie and her political consultant hubby, 47, became parents for the first time when they welcomed Vale in August 2014. “It is not simply double the joy – it is joy multiplied infinitely”, she wrote.

“I am pregnant”, the star revealed to the delight of her co-hosts, including Matt Lauer, Hoda Kotb and Al Roker.

“It’s amusing, because we set the wedding date, I bought my dress, and then I found out”, she said at the time.

The journalist shared her emotions in a blog post for Today, writing: “It’s hard for words to contain all the excitement Mike and I have about expecting a new baby in December”.
