Millions eligible for free tickets through Ticketmaster

June 20 23:00 2016

Each voucher is redeemable for two free tickets to their eligible live events, and customers get one voucher per purchase they made in that 14 year span.

Ticketmaster will also be offering $42 million (£29 million) in discount codes each year for the next four years. Originally filed in 2003, the lawsuit – Schlesinger v Ticketmaster – accuses the company of overcharging its customers through “deceptive and misleading” fees for order-processing and delivery costs. Billboard magazine reports that about 50 million people are in line to receive the vouchers.

The bad news is that Ticketmaster hasn’t listed any of the eligible Live Nation events online, leaving many users frustrated. Once used, it will be extinguished and will disappear from the list of Active Vouchers on your account.

Ever bought tickets to, say, a Broadway show or a Patriots game through Ticketmaster?

The free tickets work on a first-come, first-served basis. Now, Ticketmaster has lost that case, but instead of simply doling out coupons and rebates as initially thought, fans are also being given access to free tickets. The free show vouchers aren’t good for just any event sold on Ticketmaster (could you imagine?). Live Nation bought the ticketing firm for $2.5 billion in 2009. Ticketmaster will designate which events are eligible, but as of this writing, that information has not been revealed.

Nope, that email telling you that you earned free tickets from Ticketmaster is not spam.
