Snapchat-like filters coming to Facebook Live

Now users will be able to go live on the platform through the MSQRD app and use its many different Snapchat-like masks and filters while the video is running.

Facebook acquired MSQRD in March for an undisclosed amount.

YouTube will also be implementing other features such as waiting rooms, pre-scheduled broadcasts and going live with a digital mask, as well as special effects.

Social networking giant Facebook has rolled out its enterprise offering – Facebook at Work – in India that will allow employees of an organisation to collaborate and connect with co-workers.

First and foremost, Facebook Live will soon allow for 2-person broadcasts, meaning interviews and discussions will now be entirely possible through the service. The feature will go live this summer, starting with Verified Pages and it will broadly available later on. Later this summer, you’ll also be able to go Live with someone else – even if you’re not in the same place (so basically, a public Google Hangout).

Facebook is making some big changes to its video platform, and it appears the popular social media network is hoping to look a little more like another one of your favorite apps: Snapchat.

For billions of people around the globe, TV has been the main source of live entertainment, news, and sports. If they end up there early, Facebook will let them sit in a virtual lobby-like room waiting for the Live video to start. Perhaps realizing that just letting people broadcast normally isn’t good enough anymore, now you’ll be able to add some more creativity to the mix. Similarly, it will be easier for broadcasters to build an audience for their videos.

Both Digiday and Marketing Land reported that Facebook is looking into monetizing Facebook Live streaming video via ads.
