After exiting the vehicle, Tipton grabbed a duffel bag, which contained two guns, from the trunk.

Tipton was reportedly speaking to people on the scene before being transported to the hospital.

Police told FOX 2 that Tipton, who has since been identified by the medical examiner, was responsive and talking after being shot, but he died at some point after.

The 26-year old was pulling into a service bay at Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership in Roseville, Michigan when disaster struck.

He later passed away in the hospital after reportedly arriving in “good condition”.

Zurlon and his brother, Cortez Tipton, had left a party in Brownsburg upon receiving texts from Zurlon’s girlfriend that her life was in danger due to threatening text messages from her ex-boyfriend. Police found a loaded 9mm handgun and a loaded Colt AR-15 assault rifle in the vehicle. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.

The shooting occurred as the man placed personal belongings into a bag containing the firearms, police said.

The running back played 16 games over two seasons for the Indianapolis Colts before being waved back in December.

The former Central Michigan standout played 2 seasons for the Colts, having originally been signed as an undrafted free agent in 2014.
