Matthew McConaughey teaching filmmaking course at University of Texas

Alright, alright, alright! Matthew McConaughey is returning to his alma mater the University of Texas at Austin to teach a film class this fall, the university announced on Thursday, June 30. “He’s in the movies”. Now Matthew McConaughey is headed back to The University of Texas at Austin as professor.

“Free State of Jones” is now in theaters nationwide.

He’ll be co-teaching with Free State director Gary Ross, also director of The Hunger Games, and lecturer Scott Rice, according to The Wrap and moviefone.com websites.

The class, “Advanced Producing: Script to Screen“, will feature an all-star faculty cast, reports The Daily Texan, the student newspaper at UT Austin.

McConaughey will teach most of his portions of the course via remote video recording.

The class, which is part of the Moody College of Communications, is open to both juniors and seniors and will not require pre-requisites or fees.

McConaughey graduated from UT-Austin in 1993 with a BA in radio, television, and film, school public affairs representative Lauren Phillips told My San Antonio.
