Tanzania promised to open an Israeli embassy soon.

Israel would also provide African states with training in “domestic security” and health, it said. He recalled the 2015 attack by the al-Shabab extremist group that killed 148 people on a college campus in Garissa in Kenya and the 2013 attack on Westgate Mall in Nairobi that killed 67.

“We have our African brethren, the Ethiopian Jews, who are in our society, and I personally work every few weeks to help integrate more and more and incorporate in our society”. Moses Ali, Uganda’s deputy prime minister who served as a government minister under Amin, told Uganda’s Daily Monitor newspaper that the rescue mission should not be celebrated by Ugandans.

Before addressing the Christian audience, Netanyahu participated in a meeting between Israeli and Kenyan businesspeople in an effort to boost economic cooperation between the countries and to increase Israeli exports to Africa. That’s something that has never been possible in the past…

“We’ve begun to do it among our respective countries”.

“We have been formed and shaped to see, to do things in a certain way – but based mainly on the major resource we have”, Kagame said.

Welcomed into the room with the blasts of the shofar (ram’s horn) and thunderous applause, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu spoke to Christian supporters of Israel in Nairobi, Kenya on Tuesday. Israel lost that status a decade ago after pressure from Libya.

“We had short time to prepare for it”, he said, noting the more than 3,500 kilometers (2,200 miles) separating Uganda from Israel, with a 48-hour ultimatum before the gunmen would start killing hostages. “Seven leaders from seven African countries talking about how to expand Israel’s relationship with their countries but with all the countries of Africa”, he continued.

 Equating the Palestinian cause with that of the ANC, Israel maintained close relations with the apartheid regime in South Africa.

Netanyahu said Israel is united with African countries against terrorism, calling it a “common war”.

“There are tense relations with the European Union, and he wants to find friendlier countries”, Oded said.

Asked if he believes Israel could carry out a similar operation today, Mr. Shani said that while the world had changed a lot and is in general more selfish, those who serve in Israel’s elite commando units are just as motivated as they were back then.

Museveni called on Israeli companies to invest in Africa: “Trade among Israel, Africa and third countries is beneficial to all”.

“We appreciate this friendship and we’re expanding it to the continent of Africa”. Mr. Netanyahu is scheduled to head to Kenya for Tuesday and Rwanda on Wednesday, the Times of Israel reports.

“There is a rising tide in Africa and a rising tide lifts all ships”, said the Israeli leader.
