Juve to break bank for Higuain, reports claim

July 20 23:00 2016

Higuain, who scored 36 Serie A goals last season, is now in Argentina after representing his country at the Copa America and he is not due back in Naples until July 25.

He denied that fellow Italians Juventus have made an offer for Higuain and said even that one was made, it would be rejected outright.

Giroud has shown himself to be a capable player, and his contributions undoubtedly warrant a place in Arsenal‘s squad. Heck, €94 million for pretty much any player is overspending, even in the now, wildly over-inflated transfer market.

Napoli’s official radio station has claimed that Arsenal have offered €50 million (£41.8m) plus Olivier Giroud for Gonzalo Higuain.

Not to mention that the type of game played by [coach Maurizio] Sarri could enhance the quality of a centre forward like him.

A meeting was due to be held between Juve and Higuain’s current club Napoli at the Serie A headquarters in Milan this morning.

The Argentina worldwide has been heavily linked with both Serie A champions Juve and Arsenal, with a €94million release clause reportedly tempting those clubs. Giroud scored 16 goals and assisted six in 26 starts last season but Arsenal need another striker to share the load up front.

“Everything I’ve read on the Giroud is not true”, said Manuello.

Higuain’s Napoli teammate Jose Callejon recently urged his forward partner to stay put this summer, saying: “I want him to stay here at Napoli. I can confirm that we will not pay the clause”, he told reporters.

“You always need two strikers and Welbeck is out for (a total of) nine months, unfortunately”.

Olivier Giroud’s agent Michael Manuello has rubbished rumours that his client is on his way out of Arsenal this summer.

Arsenal want another striker?”

Arsenal coach, Arsene Wenger knows that if he is to challenge for the English Premier League (EPL) title, then he will require the talent of Higuain upfront.
