But she is also her father’s not-so-secret weapon, one who steps into the breach at the most crucial moments.

The 34-year-old told NBC’s “Today” on Thursday it’s an honor to introduce her father at the convention, but admitted that she’s nervous about speaking to such a large crowd. A Trump speechwriter came forward Wednesday to take the blame. She then reiterated her earlier point about the gender wage gap: “Politicians talk about wage equality, but my father has made it a practice at his company throughout his entire career”. “She has great instincts in business and in life”. Ted Cruz was essentially booed off the stage when he failed to endorse Trump.

That same family-driven model has extended to politics.

Trump’s lengthy address offered few specifics but covered the major themes of his campaign, lambasting political correctness while pledging to reshape the country’s trade agreements, build a wall along the Mexican border and restore the grandeur he says America has lost.

And while all of his grown children have had a visible presence on the campaign trail, all seem to agree that none is closer than Ivanka and husband Jared Kushner, who is now involved with almost all facets of the campaign.
